Hello friends! My name is Nicole. I created this blog as a space to share my fears, secrets, hopes, and dreams. What you will find here is a journal of gratitude for all of life’s moments, big and small, with just a touch of sarcasm for good measure.
A little about me…
I am a 35 year old dreamer who married a planner. It works well. I have a dog (Macey) and two cats (Lucky and Pickle). I don’t have kids, but I call my dog my “Dog-ter.” I have a relatively normal, sometimes exciting office job.
My father is from Spain so that makes me half Spanish. The rest is just a hodge podge of German, Irish, English – pretty standard. I have spent most of my life hearing people tell me “You don’t look Spanish”, to which I secretly think to myself “You don’t even know what Spanish people look like!” And if one more person ever asks me if I eat lots of tacos I swear I am going to lose it. Yes – I love tacos, but my love for Mexican food and my Spanish heritage are mutually exclusive. I lived in Ibiza, Spain for a couple of years after college and it was one of the craziest, most rewarding things I have ever done, but I am glad I now have a somewhat relaxing life and get 8 hours of sleep every night. Let’s just say it is hard to maintain that sort of lifestyle over the long term.
I enjoy photography and fancy myself someday doing more with it. There go those dreams again…
I love to travel – like Anthony Bourdain style travel. Stick me on a cruise ship and I will probably lose my mind. I find it extremely exhilarating to be in a completely foreign environment and I love to explore and be immersed in new cultures and try new things.
I love to cook and, more importantly, eat. I am therefore forced to exercise so I can fit into my clothes. I am by no means a trainer, fitness guru, nutritionist or anything of the sort; however, I do try to exercise regularly and eat a diet full of nutritious whole foods MOST of the time. I do eat bacon, sweets, and all non caveman approved foods from time to time. And by “from time to time” I mean “a lot of the time.”
Thanks for visiting 🙂
